Retreats

What is a retreat?

Webster tells us that to retreat is to withdraw to a private abode or to any secluded situation.  It is to retire to a place of safety or security.  It is also a state of privacy or seclusion from noise, bustle, or company.

When we go on a retreat, we are taking the time to to draw away from the busyness of life and  our “normal” routine so that we can be alone with ourselves and with God.

At “Come Away, My Beloved”  we offer several retreats that help you come away from the noise and the bustle and to help you remember that you are loved by God.

The “Come Away, My Beloved” retreat is our beginning basic prayer retreat.  The Come Away, My Beloved Prayer Retreat focuses on the idea that God invites us to come away to a place of rest and of quiet to be with Him.

This retreat encourages women to learn how to quiet themselves and to respond to God’s invitation in creative ways, as well as encouraging women to know and remember that they are God’s beloved.

Some of the practices incorporated in this retreat are

  • Using Traveler’s Notebooks
  • Journaling
  • Praying in Color
  • Praying through Poetry
  • Breath Prayers
  • Quote Cards
  • Quieting our Hearts through Soaking Music
  • Prayer Stations
